The Zahid Mubarek Trust is a charitable oganisation which has been developed to provide a voice for the offender population within prisons as well as to advocate for reform within the wider criminal justice system. The trust is a non profit organisation established as an external scrutineer to ensure that criminal justice agencies operate to provide basic standards within a Human Rights context.
The ZMT will also provide support services to the offender population of whom many become victims due to disproportionate sentencing and / or a failure to receive appropriate management whilst in the care of state agencies.
The ZMT aims to become a catalyst for change through providing a range of creative initiatives which place decency and self development at the heart of its ethos. The Trust is truly pioneering in its approach to according offenders rights to safety and well being. The development of services independent of the Prison Service will reaffirm every individual’s right to fair play, safety and dignity.
