Our Aims:

The Zahid Mubarek Trust (ZMT) aims to challenge the increasing prevalence of misrepresentation and to act as an advocate for improvements for an ever diversifying prison population. It believes offenders should be treated fairly and given an opportunity to rehabilitate and progress in society, irrespective of their differences. Through introducing both proactive and preventative means, the Trust will inculcate a more humane prison system which respects Human Rights and promotes the well being, development and safety of offenders.

The ZMT will establish monitoring processes which will highlight systemic failures and promote greater accountability from those who have the responsibility of keeping prisoners safe. The Trust will also develop a more creative approach to education, one which will challenge recidivism and promote rehabilitation during sentence and which continues to support after release.
